Joshua 10:2 says they were strong warriors. We live in a culture where everyone wants to look like they’ve got it all together:The Instagram filter says “perfect.”The smile says “I’m fine.”The bank account is in overdraft, but the outfit says “I’m winning.”But the Gibeonites show us something countercultural: sometimes salvation comes when you admit you don’t have it all together.2. The Revelation They SawThe Gibeonites realized something other nations missed:We know how to fight, but we can’t fight against God.Our strength is nothing compared to His sovereignty.Wisdom is not knowing how to fight. Wisdom is knowing which fights to walk away from and fight isn’t worth fighting.4.
