She teams up with veteran bassist/producer Matthew Parrish for their debut as co-leaders and first release as a couple. Recorded live at the storied Dirty Dog Jazz Café in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan, the album captures a swinging, intimate partnership — forged through music and a deeply shared life on the bandstand, in the studio, and at home.For Matthew, it’s a long-awaited return to bandleading since his acclaimed 2001 debut Circles. The last time we caught up with Michelle was during her 2023 release Two Moons. In this conversation, we dive into the new album, life in 2025, and so much more.
