The word “whataboutism” was created to gaslight Trump supporters who answer criticisms of Trump by saying “what about Obama?” However, now that Joe Biden is being accused of sexual assault the same people say “what about Trump?” The narrative goes like this, President Trump has been accused of sexual misconduct or sexual assault by over 20 women and he is still president, so why would it matter that Joe Biden has been accused by only one woman? It’s not that they don’t believe Tara Reade, who has accused Joe Biden of forcibly penetrating her with his fingers when she worked in Biden’s senate office in 1993, they just don’t care. Many prominent Democrat law makers and surrogates have openly stated that they believe Reide, but plan on voting for Biden regardless. These same people said a 36 year old sexual assault accusation against Bret Kavanaugh made him ineligible to sit on the Sepreme Court. Others have stated they don’t believe Reade, despite saying all women must always be believed during the Kavanaugh conformation. These people are hypocrites!
