Just as we expect our elected leaders to answer for their actions, the Word teaches that: Husbands and wives must be accountable to each other (Ephesians 5:21–33) Parents and children are accountable in love and obedience (Ephesians 6:1–4) Church leaders and congregations are accountable to one another (Hebrews 13:17) And ultimately, we are all accountable to God (Romans 14:12; 2 Corinthians 5:10) Accountability isn’t control — it’s a reflection of God’s justice, order, and love.
