Achieving Your Performance Potential As An Artist with Elma Linz Kanefield

from Personal Development Trailblazers Podcast · host Digital Trailblazers

Welcome to the Personal Development Trailblazers Podcast! In this episode, we dive into achieving your performance potential as an artist. Elma Linz Kanefield, psychotherapist, life coach and founding director of The Juilliard School’s counseling program, introduces Performance Potential – actionable steps to help individuals realize their full potential – in her first book Hamlet’s Mirror.  As a young performer, Elma suffered debilitating stage fright. Rather than remain devastated, she transformed her fright into her life’s calling and became a specialist in the psychology of the performing artist. At The Juilliard School, she created the first of its kind, on-campus, fully staffed psychotherapy facility, offering unlimited, confidential sessions to serve the entire graduate and postgraduate student body. To date, The Juilliard School’s Counseling Services remains the only mental health service in the world for performing arts students in an independent performing arts institution. Elma continues to serve The Juilliard School as a clinical and organizational consultant. A licensed LCSW, CPC, Elma still sees clients in her private practice, lectures and conducts master classes. Hamlet’s Mirror is the result of the collective experiences of the hundreds of performing artists and clients she has counseled throughout her 35+ year career. It’s through her work with these individuals that need to be “on'' for every performance that Elma recognized the insights she has gained are beneficial and applicable to anyone looking to realize their full potential in all the “roles” they play in their lives. Elma has been written about and quoted in The New York Times, Time Magazine, The US and Canadian Opera News, In Style Magazine, The Daily News, and other trade publications.  Connect with Elma on socials here: https://www.linkedin.com/in/elma-linz-kanefield-lcsw-cpc-20327036/ https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100084700315926 https://www.instagram.com/hamlets_mirror/ Get Elma’s book here: https://www.amazon.com/Hamlets-Mirror-Reaching-Performance-Potential/dp/B0B6XGTYPC/ref=sr_1_1?dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.74IGDTMGE0CD_k9kaAZgIYWY2l4ZSdNIl_gW-umXTSluqr78tgCM9oxpvQ8iH5SgNOKTHfpTJPG5D4it-VPC18fXh3oHbjqgxS0D75-SN6lyJNiyIZAqB-d_B7oozdGkmvaFJdBwj1NMq6juh3dLxjvOCfZXN4E5oq8UhxdoF9iHIQdQ3u66zHSIS06r6tDqtSRAtBYFb_ThjZLrkGj0ZfeMdgvs4y2uqXyJ8TOIWOY.YUODXvRgQtotILOahLlmGC3WpqTtxc9wqnWHrLI8WuM&dib_tag=se&keywords=hamlets+mirror&qid=1715582559&sr=8-1 =================================== If you enjoyed this episode, remember to hit the like button and subscribe.
