No one is excluded from all difficulties. No one is excluded from pain. We don’t have to pretend to have it altogether. We don’t have to pretend that we are ok when we aren’t. We don’t have to pretend to be fearless when we are afraid. Like the ancient psalmists, we can be honest in  God’s presence. In the communion of God’s love, we hold time and space for each other to be vulnerable and raw. We don’t discount, dismiss, or diminish our experiences. Living faithfully means in part to seek God’s presence when it feels absent, to seek God’s guidance when we feel lost, to seek God’s comfort when we feel troubled. We acknowledge our pain. We ask for help. We trust that somehow, someway, someday God will answer us. I’m Horace McMillon. This is 60 Seconds of Hope.
