Guitar master Ralph Towner plays the 6 string and the 12 string acoustic guitar here and a little piano on this masterful album called "Batik". Towner's music is impressionistic, spacey, energetic and meditative and his 5 compositions here reflect his open concept. Towner has made scads of albums for ECM but this is one of his best. He is accompanied by two great musical masters in the persons of bassist Eddie Gomez and drummer Jack DeJohnette.
