Other times we act obsessively but don't trust, thinking it all depends on us.Both are wrong.There’s an old saying often attributed to St. Ignatius: "Act as if everything depended on you; trust as if everything depended on God." Give your full effort. Plan, execute, strive, labor. Don't sit back waiting for miracles to fall from heaven.But also trust. Recognize your complete dependence on God. Surrender the outcome. Trust that He's the one really at work, not you.Full effort. Full trust.—Let us pray. Heavenly Father, give us the discipline to act as if everything depends on us, and the humility to trust as if everything depends on You.
