Actor ROGER BART

from The Buzz - BuzzWorthy Radio · host The Buzz - BuzzWorthy Radio

Roger Bart is an accomplished film, television and theater actor, first appearing on Broadway in "Big River" as Tom Sawyer. He would later win a Tony Award for his portrayal in the live adaption, "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown." He has appeared in such films as "The Stepford Wives," "American Gangster," and "Harold & Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay." He is known to most television audiences for his role as George Williams, the pharmacist who killed for love on the former ABC series, "Desperate Housewives."Bart recurs in the current ABC series, "Revenge," as Mason Treadwell. Throughout the course of seasons one and two, Mason tries manages to re-insert himself back in the Hamptons. Emily Thorne would soon make him a target after she learned that he played a vital part in David Clarke's false imprisonment. After burning down his home, which included all of his work and letters, Mason began digging for information again. He would soon learn the truth about who Emily Thorne really is, and even went to prison in a deal with Emily. Bart spoke with us about his upcoming appearance on Sunday's episode, entitled, "Blood.""I'm not going to say too much about it, but I am relieved that when we went back to look at me in prison that I lost a little weight. Maybe if I were a series regular, I would have gone the whole Matthew McConaughey. That's what happens when you're a recurring character, because you don't know what happens. So, I figured I would only drop 10 lbs in the prison suit. I thought it would be funny if they came back to me in prison and I would be a fully converted Muslim. *laughs* You never know! However, Mason does get a little visit in prison. First of all, I enjoy being on 'Revenge' so much. I was glad when this show came along, because Mason Treadwell is such a different animal. I love Mason because at this point, he is trying to do the right thing and go back and fix stuff. There is also that Dominick Dunne element to him, where he did have tragedy in his life, and is intrigued with power, money and crime. Unfortunately, for poor Mason, he has bills to pay. Vanity and greed are his weakness. It's just so fun to play, and I consider him to be a foolish peacock. It was great to be back."We spoke more with Roger Bart about his time on "Desperate Housewives," as well as doing the USA mini-series, "Political Animals," which was executive produced by Greg Berlanti, and starred Sigourney Weaver. Also this Sunday, Bart will be taking part in live-tweeting the "Revenge" airing. To follow Roger on Twitter, go to: @_RogerBart_."Revenge" airs Sunday nights at 10/9c on ABC.
