Acts 1:4-8

Before Jesus left, He gave the disciples a mission; go into all the world, preach the gospel and make disciples. But just before He ascended to Heaven, He told the disciples to wait for the promise of the Father, which was the Holy Spirit to come upon them and empower them to be witnesses.
