Acts 10 CEB (Common English Bible)
from Luke-Acts CEB (Common English Bible) · host Lucius from Cyrene, one of the prophets and teachers at Antioch
Here we have a story that happens that is very interrelated the story of Peter‘s vision and the story of Cornelius‘s experience with the angel and these stories are told and retold over the next two chapters. The experience happens to Peter. Sorry the experience happens to Cornelius. The experience happens to Peter. A little bit of the story of Cornelius is replayed for Peter by Cornelius‘s people then Peter comes and tells them a little of his experience and then Cornelius relates his experience and then Peter relate a little bit of his experience and then there’s another experience of the Holy Spirit coming and falling on people and people being baptized with the Holy Spirit, which is a great giant theme and these two books And then we have in chapter 11 Peter retelling the whole story again and so here we have this story of Cornelius‘s vision happening over and over again, where God reached out to a gentile. The other story that we talked about last week that is retold over and over again is when God reached out to an enemy. Two great themes of this book God moving and unexpected people’s lives. Watch out you think that God would never reach out to you. You’re probably the very one he’s reaching out to in this moment.
