Acts 11 CEB ( Common English Bible)

from Luke-Acts CEB (Common English Bible) · host Lucius from Cyrene, one of the prophets and teachers at Antioch

Peter tell the story again again this story has been told quite a few times if you try to memorize it, you’ll have to try to figure out different ways which I don’t know if I have totally figured out yet how to distinguish the different parts from each other what angel says to Simeon this time that time the other time with the angel says to what the voice says to Peter this time in that time how Peter interacts with sent with Cornelius sorry not sent Manor Peter interacts with Cornelius this time in that time Etc. etc. anyway and then this passage also talks about the church of Antioch the church not only of Jewish people but also Gentiles so in these two chapters, we have some serious stuff happening with gentle tiles. Peter is a key person for the Gentile mission and now Paul is brought into the first church the Antioch church I should say a few things about the Antioch Church. Because we are separated so much by time and even geography, we think of Jerusalem as a big deal and his Antioch, as probably not that big of a deal Jerusalem was a much smaller city than Antioch. I believe I could be wrong. The Antioch was the second biggest City of the ancient world, the first, of course being Rome. Somebody should definitely fax. Check me on that fax fact, check me on that because I’m not 100% sure it could’ve been the third most populated but I know that it’s way bigger than Jerusalem so that’s something to think about is that the church of Antioch was a huge part of God story of creating a unified Jew and gentle church, which is just to be honest key to the plan of the whole Bible, key to God‘s entire plan you see God did not just want one people group to be his family, but he wanted to use the Jewish people group to bring all peoples into his family. That is so obvious if you read the Bible. The mission And the promise and the hope that God gave Abraham was not just for his own family, but that his family would be a blessing to all the families of the Earth. This cannot be lost that what Abraham was promised is being fulfilled in a very special way and Antioch
