Acts 19 CEB (Common English Bible)

Paul goes to Ephesus and finds some disciples. I imagine that these disciples were people who were convinced by Apollos. They didn’t even know that there was a Holy Spirit. There seems to be a very deep connection between Jon‘s baptism and disciples, but also not everybody was aware that the baptism pointed to Jesus and not everybody was aware of the baptism after gone, which was the Holy Spirit baptism. This seems to be a giant theme throughout the book of Luke. And Acts. And then in this chapter, we also have a riot in Ephesus. This is a big chapter for that area. We also have the seven sons of Skiba who tried to throw out a demon and they are beat the crap out of. We also have people throwing away willingly stuff worth a crap ton of money why would people do that? It’s because there’s something that’s worth way more money and that is absolutely Jesus Christ. It is not that people sadly are like OK I’ll give up my money, but it’s so much more infinite worth than any parchment worth of Bajillion dollars that they’re willingly throw it away.
