Acts 22

Paul's speech to the Jerusalem crowd retells his conversion experience while emphasizing his Jewish credentials and divine commission to the Gentiles. The crowd's violent response to the mention of Gentile ministry reveals the ethnic prejudice that the gospel challenges throughout the Roman world. His claim to Roman citizenship protects him from flogging while establishing his legal rights for the trials ahead.
