"The Lord is calling our beloved Senior Pastor, Clint Echols, to a new ministry with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Although the Elders are sad to see Pastor Clint go, we are excited to see him being obedient to God’s call on his life. We stand behind him 100% in his decision to pursue that call. We agree that his new ministry matches Pastor Clint’s giftedness in evangelism and discipleship, his passion for sports, and his love for young people. We praise God for Pastor Clint’s nearly ten years of ministry here at First Baptist Church. We rejoice with Pastor Clint and his family that God continues to lead them, even though that leading may bring a measure of sorrow caused by their absence from our fellowship.
