Acts Chapters 5-6

In this episode, we read Acts chapters 5 and 6, where the early church continues to grow, but also faces both internal challenges and external opposition. In chapter 5, we see a sobering moment as Ananias and Sapphira are confronted for their dishonesty, reminding us of the seriousness of integrity within the community of believers. At the same time, the apostles continue performing signs and wonders, boldly preaching despite being arrested and warned by authorities. Their response shows unwavering obedience to God over human pressure. In chapter 6, as the church expands, practical needs arise, leading to the appointment of leaders to serve and support the growing community. This allows the apostles to remain focused on prayer and teaching, while unity is preserved. Acts 5–6 reminds us that a healthy church requires both spiritual power and faithful character, and that God continues to work through organized, unified, and obedient people.
