Acts of the Witnessess

This week at Saint Joseph Church of Christ, guest speaker Garren Holt continues our Early Church series with a message titled “Acts of the Witnesses.” The Kingdom of God grows when disciples of Jesus bear witness to the faith (Acts 1:8). From caring for those in need (Acts 6:1–4), to standing firm in opposition, to Stephen’s bold defense before the council, we are reminded that faithful witness involves both words and actions. Through Stephen’s panorama of the Old Testament — the land, the law, the promise of God’s presence, and the lives of Abraham, Joseph, and Moses — we see how all of Scripture points to Jesus, the only true Savior. Just as Stephen bore witness even unto death (Acts 7:54–60), we too are called to stand firm, defend our faith, and proclaim Christ with courage and compassion.
