What can I do about my libido since it has diminished so greatly?"Dr. Mistry shares that a primary reason for prostate removal is the treatment of prostate cancer. While these procedures are effective at treating this type of cancer, they are also associated with erectile dysfunction in 30-70% of people who have them. This is because the nerves that allow the penis to fill with blood and stay erect are very close to the prostate gland, making them vulnerable during some procedures.
