Addicted but Not Abandoned

from Quiet In The Night · host Bill Scott

Addicted but Not Abandoned You may feel ashamed, stuck, or beyond help—but hear this truth: addiction does not disqualify you from God's love. In fact, it draws His heart toward you with even greater compassion. God doesn't turn away from brokenness—He steps into it, bringing healing and hope. Romans 8:38-39 reminds us, "Nothing can separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Not even addiction. God sees your struggle, your silent tears, the moments you try and fail—and He still calls you His beloved. Jesus came for the hurting, not the perfect. He said, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick." (Mark 2:17). He's not ashamed of you. He's reaching for you right now. You are not abandoned. You are not alone. Every step toward healing—no matter how small—is seen and celebrated by your Heavenly Father. Even in relapse, God's mercy remains. So today, be kind to yourself. Let grace speak louder than guilt. Reach out for help. And remember: your story is not over. With Jesus, there is always hope. You are loved. You are held. And you are never too far gone for God.
