In Galatians 5:16-17, the Apostle Paul advises, "This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would." This passage highlights the internal conflict between our sinful nature and the Holy Spirit. To combat the lusts of the flesh, believers are encouraged to live by the Spirit, allowing His guidance and strength to dominate their actions and thoughts. Further, Romans 13:14 exhorts, "But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof."
