Addressing The Controversial Card Trimming Video; Looking At Wander Franco and Fernando Tatis Jr. Card Values; Are Recent Sales of Modern Cards Worth The Investment Risk?

EPISODE 131 - Clark, Hyung, and John are back together again and to start the show they catch up on a couple of baseball players, their card values, and whether it's a good time to buy right now. The players in question are Wander Franco and Fernando Tatis Jr. The guys then get into Hobby Headlines and they weigh in on the controversial card trimming video by former NFL player Evan Mathis. They debate whether card trimming (especially for vintage sports cards) are now okay or if the video could be encouraging some collectors to trim their cards to get a higher grade without disclosing the alterations. Afterwards, Clark introduces a new segment called "Worth The Risk?" in which he presents some sales of modern cards, and asks Hyung and John whether it's worth the risk to invest in those cards at the recent sale prices. Then they finish the episode off with the regular "Pick One" segment where each host names two cards or sets, and then debate which one they would rather invest in. The pairs chosen this week include: Mookie Betts 2014 Bowman Chrome Rookie Autograph Gold Refractor vs. Shohei Ohtani 2018 Bowman Chrome Rookie Autograph Atomic Refractor; Luka Doncic Silver Prizm Rookie Card vs. Devin Booker Silver Prizm Rookie Card; and Jarred Kelenic Bowman Chrome Rookie Autograph vs. Jeremy Pena Bowman Chrome Rookie Autograph Card. -------------------------------- CONNECT WITH US!
