Adithi Rao on Boy, Bear, writing 'the truth' for children, and the books she secretly wants to write!

Adithi Rao's Boy, Bear was my favourite Hook Book from last year. It told a beautiful story of a family of animal entertainers and with simple words managed to convey emotions that you carried around for days. I have been waiting for an opportunity to talk to Adithi and when that happened the floodgate opened and the questions tumbled out! We spoke about writing books for children that don't shy away from telling them 'the truth'. We chatted about why illustrations are so important for a children's book and why they played a crucial role in Boy, Bear.
