Adjusting Our Crowns

from Hope-Full Living · host Marilyn Nutter

Selah. That word in the psalms is a pause to meditate on a powerful truth. When my grandmothers’ group finishes our prayer time, we look up and around and say, “Selah.” We have met with God, thanking Him, and pleading for our families. Our quiet pause reflects our powerful experience. Prayers for jobs, childhood bullying to stop, academic struggles, spiritual growth, future mates, and more have been answered. We also wait for answers, trusting in God’s timing and purposes. We believe that “The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working” (James 5:16b). Some children and grandchildren are local; others live many miles away. But in our prayer time, distance doesn’t matter. God is near. His presence is real, and He hears us. Have you considered meeting with another grandparent or senior friend to pray for your families? It’s one way we adjust our crowns.
