Adolescence: The Challenges and the Opportunities

Robin Grille speaks on the era of adolescence, the unique challenges for not only our adolescents in their transformation, but also for us as their parents and guides. Our adolescents can press our buttons, bring out stress and fear in us, but this can have the effect of pushing them away from us, unable to hear. And in this space, we find ourselves also unable to learn from them. Instead, Robin Grille poses the idea that we can use this period to enquire deeply into what triggers our responses to our adolescents. It is possible that our negative reactions are linked to our 'unfinished business' from our younger years.
