Ci incontrammo più di un anno fa: io vagavo per un sentiero in mezzo ai castagni, lui era fermo sulla soglia di un teccio e guardava il tetto sfondato dalla neve. Accanto a sé una vecchia oca, che prese a farmi un verso cattivo, simile a un fischio, quando provai ad avvicinarmi. Trascorsi un po’ di tempo con lui, a parlare degli anni della guerra, dei tedeschi e dei partigiani che si affrontavano da queste parti, del freddo e dell’isolamento dell’inverno già trascorso, dei temporali e della notte in cui vide il grande cinghiale nero nella fascia sotto casa. Promisi che sarei tornato a trovarlo, per annotare tutto di lui e di quelle storie. Ancora non l’ho fatto e sono triste per questo. A lui sono dedicati i versi, che hanno raccolto i simboli del mito e la loro voce nella sua casa.
