Why must we take time to study our relationship with the third person of the Trinity? Our relationship with the Holy Spirit is of interest since, He is the one whom the Father and the Son sent to effect salvation and to indwell us. The point of this study is to encourage us to cultivate a deeper relationship with the Holy Spirit, by actively submitting to Him, by obeying His commands, depending on His power, and enjoying His fellowship. As we do so, we will produce His Fruit and grow in our knowledge of God the Father and our likeness to Christ. Fruit is expected in all believers, but we grow in our fruitfulness as we grow into Christ our head.
