The book of Esther - the most remarkable book in the Bible. Why? Because it doesn’t speak of God even once. Prayer is not mentioned either and Esther is not quoted in the New Testament. Yet in Esther the King of Persia is mentioned 190 times in 167 verses. In Ruth, ‘the Lord’ or ‘the Almighty’ is mentioned 19 times in 85 verses. God’s name or His acts are openly expressed in the mouths of many. God’s hand and acts are explicit in both books. In Esther, God works behind the scenes coordinating “coincidences” and circumstances to make His will happen in delivering His people.
