Advent 2021 | Wonderful Counselor

What first comes to mind when you hear the title “Counselor”? Many of us think of a therapist: Someone who helps us work through our issues and finds internal peace and change. That IS true of Jesus. He breathes new life into our souls, renews our minds, and heals our hearts. But, that’s not what Isaiah is trying to communicate. He is describing the kind of King that will secure a hopeful future for the people of Judah. A King that is better than any national leader that has ever existed. This Wonderful Counselor King will rule with the wisdom of God - and, he will make that wisdom available to us.
