Advent #3 - The Servant Who Brings Justice to Christmas

Bruised reeds and fading wicks picture damaged people. Isaiah 42 promises God’s chosen Servant, filled with His Spirit, who will gently bring justice to people wounded by suffering and sin. At Jesus’ baptism, the Father’s delight and the Spirit’s descent identify Him as this Servant, who serves the weak and gives His life as a ransom.
