“Good News of Great Joy”Today’s reading from Luke 2:8-14 recounts the incredible moment when angels appeared to shepherds, proclaiming the birth of Jesus. On an ordinary night, the fields were suddenly illuminated by the glory of the Lord, and the angel announced the good news: the Savior had been born. The angelic choir’s song, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace,” filled the night with hope and joy.This moment reminds us that the message of Christ’s birth is for everyone, including the lowly and unexpected. The shepherds’ experience challenges us to reflect on the awe and wonder of this season.
