Advent - Hope

Joanne Hagemeyer says, "Recently, I heard a quote saying something along the lines that Hope is the last light to go out in our hearts, and the first glimmer to awaken even in our darkest moments. The writer of Hebrews spoke of the signature hope of faith in every Old Testament believer.  A quick word study reveals hope showing up seven times throughout the letter to the Hebrews, the last time as a definition of faith, 'Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.' (Hebrews 11:1) This first Sunday of Advent, Hope is the theme. What are you hoping for, in the Lord?"
