Adventures of Gracie Allen 361223 Gracie's Christmas Carol

from Retro Old Time Radio

The show begins with an opening number by the orchestra, My Sugar Takes Me with a Grain of Salt. George and Gracie talk with each other, and the cast about presents to give for Christmas.   Gracie gets a phone call, and chats with her mom.   Tony Martin talks with Gracie about his films, and the love scenes he is in. At this time, Tony was married to Alice Faye. Tony sings, Lazy River. George and Gracie talk about their upcoming plans for Christmas. They recruit Tony into helping out with their Christmas play, based on the Christmas Carol. It starts right after Tony sings, Where Have You Been All My Life. Followed by an instrumental rumba.   As George plays Scrooge, the mean old miser of the airways, he is to be visited by the ghosts of radio. He has to face up to stealing all the jokes from the other radio comedians. They may not have the actual radio comedians, but they do have someone trying to do impersonations of them.   To wrap up the show Gracie sings, I Love You from Coast to Coast.   Bonus Tracks: Fibber McGee, Molly, and Teeny. 1942. The Night Before Christmas Medley. Andrews Sisters. I'd Like to Hitch a Ride with Santa Claus.
