Today I’m going tointroduce Archimedes English Teatime.

This is an Englishlive stream, sharing ordinary people’s life experiences with a sense of humor.Archimedes English Teatime aims to discuss how to shape a positive mentalitytowards our annoying social lives. When you watch this program, you canpractice your spoken English skills as well.

Episode One

An Alarm

I got to work thisSaturday because of the Mid-autumn Day schedule. I planned to return home atnoon for lunch. However, when I arrived at the door of my residential buildingfor lunch, I couldn’t find my key card. To ask for help, I pressed the roomnumber of a neighbor who I think is nice. All of sudden, a bell seemed to ring.It was so loud that I thought I must have triggered the fire alarm. So I ranaway to the gate of our residential community and asked a security guard forhelp. I told him what had happened and he agreed to open the door for me. He couldn’tfigure out why the siren was on, either. When I got back home, I checked the shortmessages of the past few days on my cell phone and one of them says: “There isgoing to be a citywide test of the air siren between 11:35 am and 11:58 am onSeptember 18.”
