He talks; Military life, Iraq, Afghanistan, IED, Amputation, Trauma, Adversity, Throwing Away Wheelchair, Prosthetics, Mental Health, Grit, Determination, On Parade, Inspiration, PTSD, Royal Marine Support, BJJ, Competition, What makes him who he is now? Why was rediscovering martial arts after his injury so pivotal? How does that physically work? Why does he compete? What is his next challenge? He is the winner of 11 Invictus Games medals, raised more than £600,000 for REORG by running 5K on prosthetic legs, cycling 99.9 miles on a hand bike and swimming 1km at sea with one arm. He is an award-winning author and just recipient of the MBE. Mark Ormrod MBE joined the Royal Marines at 17. 7 years later on tour in Afghanistan on Christmas Eve 2007 he stepped on an improvised explosive device, it detonated in front of him. He was devastatingly injured losing both legs and right arm. Five months later in spite of painful wounds, he walked with crutches to receive his medal at a Royal Marines ceremony. He has continued to confound pessimistic doctors to walk, run, swim, train and fight and inspire others.
