Mark Ormrod MBE joined the Royal Marines at 17. 7 years later on tour in Afghanistan on Christmas Eve 2007 he stepped on an improvised explosive device, it detonated in front of him. He was devastatingly injured losing both legs and right arm. Five months later in spite of painful wounds, he walked with crutches to receive his medal at a Royal Marines ceremony. He has continued to confound pessimistic doctors to walk, run, swim, train and fight and inspire others.
