The aim of the event is to provide a platform for stakeholders to dialogue, while also aiming to serve as a catalyst for the emergence of coalitions to mobilise for actions. Over 600 innovation submissions were received from 44 African countries, including Morocco, Tunisia, Gambia, Egypt, Lesotho to name a few with the majority being submitted from Kenya, South Africa, Uganda and Tanzania. The focus was on innovators who are tackling the challenges in Water and Sanitation, Food Security, and Agriculture, Healthcare, Governance and Energy. To help us unpack the discussion for the day, we are joined by: • Tracey Webster is the CEO of Enterprise Room (partner of the Africa Innovation Summit or AIS).• Clement Mokoenene is one of the AIS innovators for 2018 from South Africa.• Dr Olugbenga Adesida is the Director of the AIS based in Rwanda.
