African Women in Supply Chain Association tackles issues facing women post-covid

Many women in Africa work in the informal sector and since the lockdown across the continent, have lost their livelihoods due to borders being shut and economic activity slowing down. Being aware of the adverse effects of the virus on women entrepreneurs across the continent and in South Africa particularly, need to think about the long-term issues faced by women within the sector and how to overcome them. Some very fundamental issues include the lack of skills for women to enter the formal sector and the design of many economic sectors that continue to maintain shut doors for women. One woman that's tackling some of these issues head-on is Lebo Letsoalo, founder of African Women in Supply Chain Association.
