The eighth edition of the Africities Summit is currently underway in Morocco Marrakesh with an estimated five- thousands delegates to attend. This year’s theme is “the transition towards sustainable cities and territories: the role of local and sub-national governments. The main focus this year is creating more sustainable African cities. The summit’s open sessions will allow different networks wishing to work with African cities territories to present their proposals and to contribute to reflections on how local Africa changes its approach to harness the opportunities and benefits that exist.We are joined on the line by:• Oumar Sylla, is the Urban Legislation Land and Governance Coordinator UNHabitat • Parks Tau is the President of the South African Association of Local Government and United Nations Local Government Association
