At 19 years old, Tyree Wallace was sentenced to life in prison for the 1997 killing of a Point Breeze deli owner. Ever since, he argued that he was innocent. Finally in November – with help from lawyer/musician David Perry, who wrote a song declaring Tyree’s innocence – Wallace was released from prison.
