After Message: The Gospel of Mark - Jesus Can Handle Your Mess

When we left Mark 1 two weeks ago, in our "Gospel of Mark" series, Jesus was traveling throughout Galilee preaching the gospel and casting out demons. Now, we come upon a story that is one of the moving accounts in Mark’s gospel. It’s the story of Jesus engaging a man with leprosy. A leper was a person that the culture would have considered to be an outcast. The Jewish people judged a person with leprosy to be unclean. The fact that this man came near to Jesus, so close that Jesus could actually touch him was unthinkable. This brings us to think, "Can Jesus handle our mess"?
