Booklet: https://tinyurl.com/mr2yppue -- This is an instrumental piece I worked on—sporadically, yet with recurring regularity—over a total span of three years. It is a collage of diverse elements that accumulated over the years and which I have now pieced together. Why is it called "Again and Again"? Because, for me, this piece represents an analogy for human behavior: we build things up, living together in contentment and happiness, yet time and again—amidst suffering and pain—we destroy everything we achieved and constructed with such great effort, only to start all over again. Where is the grand, rational plan in that? Is there one at all? Or are we humans still, in essence, five-year-olds, behaving like the oafish bully who takes pleasure in smashing the sandcastles built by smaller children? It is simply insane. Or is this contemptuous behavior perhaps precisely what drives us forward as a species? There is that ancient saying: "War is the father of all things." Is that encoded in our genes? Do we achieve progress and better living conditions only through violence and destruction—through a "Great Reset"—while simultaneously maintaining a façade of fairness, justice, and humanism? Is this schizophrenic hypocrisy part of our success as a species, and are we simply unable to escape this curse (or blessing)? Again and Again? -- Given all the discussions surrounding the song, I’ve used AI to create a booklet for it that questions the thesis—proposed by others—regarding the curse or blessing of self-destruction. Apparently, I’m a cynic. So, there is hope.
