This week we’re pleased to welcome another of Tampa’s finest purveyors of the broken beat, Agent K (aka Kerry Lane) of Digital Records, to the Armory. Press play. Get down. Break Beat connoisseur, Agent K, is recognized as one of the most accomplished,respected dj's/producers in the Break Beat scene today. With over 300 single releases and 9 mixed compilations to date, he is surely on top of his game, consistently delivering his fresh distinctive sound one beat at a time. Creating a highly energetic atmosphere and filling the floor at every event is his specialty. Owning and operating his most successful label, Digital Records, he is determined to take the electronic music scene by storm. From Europe, to the Middle-East and beyond Agent K's fan base continues to grow. His mix of funky, nu skool and electro breaks remains at the highest profile and he keeps the masses on dance floors across America. Agent K began his career in 1996, making appearances in various clubs and venues across Florida. With four years under his belt as a bass player in an alternative rock band, he took his talents into the studio to make electronic music. "I was attracted to the fact that there were unlimited creative possibilities to making electronic music, you can incorporate sounds from every genre of music there is." It wasn't long after when he created the label, Warped Recordz, with production partner, Deuce. The popular "Agent K and Deuce" produced top selling tracks across the United States and became one of the most sought after acts of the funky breaks era in the South East, US. In 2004, Agent K began working on his own and managing the well-known Afterdark Records. He quickly became a hot commodity in the Nu-Skool movement of breaks and broke into international status working and producing with artists such as Aquasky, Deep Impact, Breakfastaz, and Deepcut. In addition, he went on his first European Tour and furthermore, a tour in the Middle East which started in Istanbul, Turkey. Currently working with Bella, they have taken production and performance to a new level. Agent K's work sets the standard with the number 4 song in breaks on the internationally recognized Beatport.com's "Top 10 of 2008", "Sierra Leone" (Phat Riderz Remix). Continuously getting airplay on XM-Sirius radio and one of the most demanded acts in clubs and venues around the world there is no stopping them. Highly anticipated projects and huge productions on major labels are in the works for these talented artists.
