I forgot,” Emily repeated. “Is there anything we can make tonight?” she asked, voice full of hope. Mr. Parker walked over to the pantry, opened the door, and looked inside. “Let’s see what we have. Maybe we can still figure something out.” Oscar felt his excitement leaving and worry creeping in. Baking usually required exact measurements and ingredients. It needed a plan. And that meant everything ready to go, a recipe on the counter, measuring cups out, and everything happening in the right order. This did not sound like a plan at all.
