AI and Breast Imaging with Dr. Fernando Collado-Mesa

Fernando Collado-Mesa, MD, FSBI, received his medical degree from the University of Medical Sciences of Havana, Cuba, and completed a residency in Medical Epidemiology at the National School of Public Health, Havana, Cuba. He is former Public Health Research Fellow, Pan American Health Organization, and former Academic Visitor, Department of Epidemiology and Public Health, University College London, England. After migrating to the United States, he successfully met all requirements, including ECFMG certification and USMLE steps, and successfully applied for and completed a residency in diagnostic radiology at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine. He completed a breast imaging radiology fellowship at Mount Sinai Medical Center, Miami Beach, Florida. Dr. Collado-Mesa joined the Department of Radiology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in July 2010. In 2023 he was promoted to the academic rank of Professor of Clinical Radiology. In recognition of his level of expertise and dedication to the field of breast imaging radiology, Dr. Collado-Mesa was inducted as a fellow of the Society of Breast Imaging. Dr. Collado-Mesa has participated, presented, and lectured at numerous local, national, and international meetings and is the author of multiple scientific publications.
