Dr. Mel Speisman specializes in Academic Internal Medicine. He is an expert in the diagnosis and treatment of hypertension, diabetes, congestive heart failure, atrial fibrillation, coronary artery disease, stroke, and other chronic medical conditions. He is interested in the primary prevention of disease with a passion for medical education and bedside teaching. He has received numerous awards from medical students and residents during his 25 year career as a core faculty member of an internal medicine residency program. Dr. Speisman has mentored many physicians to take on leadership roles in academic internal medicine. Mel is a lifetime member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society signifying his lifelong commitment to outstanding patient care, professionalism, leadership, scholarship, research, teaching, and community service. In 2024, Mel completed certification programs in Artificial Intelligence and Healthcare at both Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts Institute of Technology as well as a certification in Artificial Intelligence from Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management. Mel is currently enrolled in the Stanford Artificial Intelligence in Health care Certificate Program with the goal of becoming a world leader at the intersection of AI and Medicine. Mel is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP) and a Fellow of Artificial Intelligence and Medicine (FAIM).
