AI cameras to assist lifeguards at Australian pools

Australian public pools are implementing AI camera systems that detect swimmers in distress and alert lifeguards via smartwatch. The technology is being rolled out across approximately 100 facilities nationwide, with two Brisbane pools among the first to install the system. Royal Life Saving Australia reports that while lifeguards already respond to around 8,000 rescues and 14,000 medical episodes annually at public pools, the AI system provides additional surveillance capability without replacing human lifeguards.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
