Hailing from San Francisco, CA, Jose Montesinos has been making movies since he received his first video camera at age 14. He continued to hone his skills through many DIY guerrilla films and attended film school at San Francisco City College.In 2009, he was awarded the Mastermind Grant from the SF Weekly for being a standout local talent with his grind-house-style mock trailer for “Hell’s Kittens”.Jose’s guerrilla/no-budget feature-length crime drama “Owned” was an official selection in the 2010 HBO New York International Latino Film Festival, as well as the 2010 San Francisco Latino Film Festival, and was nominated for Outstanding Cast Performance and won 1st runner up for Best Drama Feature at the 2010 Action On Film Festival. “Owned” is now distributed by Maverick Entertainment and is available on Amazon Prime.In 2016, Jose moved to Los Angeles where he has since been busy working on films such as the SyFy original release “Dead 7”, followed by four feature TV films for Lifetime and LMN. The films: “Nightmare Wedding” (2016), “Dream house Nightmare” (2016), “SinisterMinister” (2017), and “Blood Brothers” (2018), have all aired to positive ratings on their respective networks and are now also available on Amazon Prime streaming.
