AI is a Bubble. So what?

from Insanely Generative Hosted by Paul Henry Smith

In this episode, I confess an embarrassing childhood habit involving a garden hose, a stolen ounce of dish soap, and a foam tsunami that terrified both my dog and my mother—an early sign that I should never be left unsupervised with running water or “ideas.” From there, I somehow lurch into economics, comparing my backyard bubble disaster to the current panic over an AI “bubble.” (Because nothing says fiscal insight like a nine-year-old trying to drown a bucket.) We talk about why froth isn’t failure, why wobbling isn’t doom, and why every great technological shift looks—at first—like a toddler on a bike headed straight for a parked Buick. I also make the case that hype is basically society’s way of throwing spaghetti at the wall, only now the spaghetti is venture-funded and wearing an unnecessary blazer. If you’ve ever wondered whether the AI boom means we’re headed for a crash, a renaissance, or just another decade of adults pretending they understand “bandwidth,” join me. I promise you’ll leave with a clearer view of the river beneath the foam—and possibly a renewed suspicion of anyone who trusts me with a hose. Wiki Politiki with Steve Bhaerman iOM Radio Network - OMTimes At a time when political polarization, dysfunction, and confusion seem to be at an all-time high, and when noise and static seem to be drowning out sane discourse … the Wiki Politiki Radio Show offers a heartening alternative: Fun, laughter, constructive conversation, and insight. Its purpose is to cultivate the wisdom of many perspectives, and create generative conversations to help us work together to find real solutions to the problems we face … or as Swami would say, “Let’s bring left and right front and center to turn the funk into function, and leave the junk at the junction.” Each week on the Wiki Politiki Radio Show, host Steve Bhaerman (also known as cosmic comic Swami Beyondananda) will bring two “visionary, solutionary” voices to the show to offer their viewpoints, and then collaborate to find a wiser way forward. We’re not expecting our guests to agree about everything. That would be boring and unproductive! We do expect that by speaking The Undefeated Underdogs Sharath Kuruganty The Undefeated Underdogs is a podcast unpacking the underdog stories you never heard of!It highlights the underdog mentality and brings authentic conversations with people who play the long game, take action with a chip on their shoulders, and convert obstacles into opportunities!Buckle up, as I will be bringing some authentic founders, VCs, community builders, and content creators who got underestimated their whole life, and yet they beat the odds and became insanely successful! Super Prompt: Building in the Era of AI Agents Tony Wan AI agents are expanding what one person can build, operate, and own. They lower the cost of building and operating while making scattered demand easier to reach. That changes the shape of ambition. A company need not be venture-shaped. It can be founder-shaped: focused, durable, and capable of changing its founder’s life without changing the world. Super Prompt began by exploring how humans work with AI. Now we learn by building.
