Aide in Cherry Hill nursing home admits to spraying elderly resident with bleach

A South Jersey nurse’s aide has admitted to spraying an elderly paralyzed woman in the face and eyes with bleach. It happened at Avista Healthcare nursing home in Cherry Hill in 2023. Simone Goldsboro, 37, said she grabbed the bottle of bleach from a custodian’s cart and sprayed the woman as she was undressing the patient to wash her. Goldsboro has pleaded guilty to aggravated assault. The state is recommending she spend a year in jail and forfeit her license. She will be sentenced on Oct. 30.
