It’s the end of the month again and the AIP News Roundup team has come together to discuss the latest news in digital insurance and InsurTech in Asia.  In India, Liberty General Insurance introduces a new AI claims platform. Over the past few months, we have seen an increase in value chain innovation projects, something that we have witnessed in the West before.  In Malaysia, MetLife is organizing a virtual hackathon to identify new tech talent from across the world. The company is looking to attract diverse talents to join MetLife and has a focus on gender diversity. According to a LinkedIn post, “advancing female representation in tech is an important priority.” Supporting women in digital insurance and InsurTech is also on the agenda for The Digital Insurer. TDI has launched a scholarship program from women to apply for a free TDI Academy program. Women from around the globe can apply here.  In Singapore, Singlife with Aviva has launched two new digital products, a protection coverage for electric vehicles (EVs), and a rainfall protection travel insurance. The rainfall insurance is in partnership with US based InsurTech Arbol which specializes in parametric insurance products using blockchain technology.  In Korea, digital insurer Carrot raises $250m in funding and is on track to become a unicorn. Startup valuation is an art in itself.
