Akana’s Sack Surge Shakes BYU Defense | Arizona Wildcats Football News

Tausili Akana just exploded on the field for BYU, recording two and a half sacks against Arizona — the most by a BYU player since 2021 and putting him in elite company. After barely half a sack in his entire career, Akana has transformed himself into a dominant force, adding over 20 pounds to his frame and sharpening his technique by studying NFL stars like Nick Herbig. Already rated BYU’s top defensive player and fifth among Big 12 edge rushers, he’s on track to hit double-digit sacks this season — already a quarter of the way there. Facing Colorado State’s elusive quarterback Hauss Henjy, Akana is ready to prove he’s not just a breakout star, but a pass-rusher poised to make waves nationally.
